Paulding County Schools is a public school system in Paulding County, Georgia, United States. The system has five elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school.
The Paulding County School District was organized on July 1st, 1886 and it began with two teachers and fifty-one pupils. The first building was a log cabin which served as the only educational facility for the county until 1909. The following year the first permanent building was erected in Pleasant Hill and this served as both a schoolhouse and courthouse at the same time.
Paulding County Schools Calendar 2023 – 2024
Paulding County Schools offer a variety of facilities to accommodate the needs of its students. These facilities include an 8-acre main campus with a gymnasium, auditorium, and musical theater; separate campuses for elementary, middle, and high school students; a vocational/technical center; and a library with over 12,000 books and DVDs. The district also offers after-school programs including band, chorus, chess club, robotics club, and coding club.
Since Paulding County Schools opened in 1892, they have maintained a staff of highly qualified professionals. Over the years, many of these individuals have come to be known as “Paulding County Teachers”. This term is used to describe the educators who work at Paulding County Schools.
The current staff at Paulding County Schools is composed of 53 full-time employees and nine part-time employees. The majority of these employees are teachers, except the Director of Academics, who is also a school principal. Other positions include Guidance Counselor, Library Media Specialist, Physical Education Teacher/Coach, School Psychologist, and School Resource Officer.
In addition to their roles within the school district, many members of the staff also serve on various boards and committees.
